How to place your CUBIE

Title

Place the CUBIE on your property within 4 metres of the road or driveway, provided the driveway is at least 4 metres wide. The bag can be positioned behind a standard height fence. Ensure the bag has clear space around it (eg do not place it next to a wall).

It's important not to place the bag on council property unless you have obtained a permit.

Ensure there is at least 5 metres of unobstructed height for the collection drivers to safely retrieve the bag. Check for overhead powerlines, trees, building overhangs, etc. to prevent any obstacles.

To avoid damaging the bag, place it correctly from the outset rather than dragging it to another location.

How to set up your CUBIE

Title

Setting up your CUBIE bag is easy:

(1)  Unfold the flatpacked CUBIE bag to ensure it takes shape properly.

(2)  Ensure the base of the bag is flat and well-aligned on a stable surface for stability and safety.

(3)  Begin by rolling the sides of the bag down outwards to keep them upright. As you fill the bag, gradually roll the sides back up.

(4)  The bag includes a drawstring cover to secure its contents. While filling, it's best to keep this cover folded down over the outside of the bag.

(5) To prepare the bag for collection, close the drawstring cover securely.

How to fill your CUBIE

Title

To properly fill your CUBIE:

(1) Ensure all waste remains below the upper edge of the CUBIE. This allows the drawstring cover to securely close and keeps the bag safe for transport.

(2)  Keep an eye on your overall weight and make sure you are within the maximum weight for your CUBIE.

(3) Do not place any prohibited waste in the bag to ensure compliance with guidelines.

*Prohibited waste: liquids (paints, oils, solvents, poisons, chemicals, etc), hazards (asbestos, empty chemical containers, fibro sheets, insulation, batteries, styrofoam etc), tyres, gas bottles, medical waste, mattresses, food organics.

Where will my waste go?

As a key participant in the waste management industry, we understand our responsibility to help create a circular economy. For example, this means that we aim to minimise waste going to landfill.

If you have material that can be pre-sorted, you may wish to purchase separate bags for different types of waste. We offer separate streams for Masonry, Untreated wood, Garden waste and Metals.

By separating materials into different CUBIES, you reduce the amount of mixed waste, which is more expensive to process. Sorted waste can often be better recycled or repurposed, lowering the environmental impact.  With a few extra steps, you’ll not only save on disposal costs but also contribute to a cleaner, greener process.

Where possible, your waste will be transported to accredited recycling centres.

What can I use a CUBIE for?

CUBIE is ideal for a wide range of projects, renovations, and clean-ups, such as:

  • DIY projects
  • Demolition waste
  • Construction waste
  • Household waste
  • Garden rubbish
  • Kitchen renovations
  • Bathroom remodelling
  • Floor replacements
  • Clean-ups when moving
  • Spring-cleans
  • Moving house
  • Flipping houses

How does the pricing work?

Buy one or more CUBIE bags and then only pay for collection when you are ready. Our pickup service has a $100 flat fee regardless of the number of bags we are collecting, plus a disposal cost based on your location.

You can save money and help the environment by sorting your waste in separate CUBIE bags. We have streams for Masonry, Untreated Wood, Garden Waste and Metals.

All fees listed on the website include GST.

How do I pay?

We offer all major payment options including VISA, Mastercard and Amex.

What if I want a refund?

We offer a full refund for unused CUBIE bags within 14 days of purchase.

If our driver is unable to pick up your CUBIE due to non-compliance (e.g. placement, prohibited materials, excess weight), we will refund the disposal fee but not the flat pickup fee.
