Which CUBIE size should I choose?

Choose your CUBIE based on the type of waste, not just how much you have.

Choose CUBIE1 for heavy waste

CUBIE1 is designed for dense materials where weight matters more than volume.

Dimensions: 1 m × 1 m × 1 m (1 cubic metre)

Maximum weight: 1,000 kg

Best for: soil, bricks, concrete, rubble, and mixed heavy waste

Capacity guide: roughly 7 standard council red-lid bins (140 L each) or 1.5 standard 6×4 trailer loads

Customer insight: Over 95% of customers stay within the 1,000 kg limit

Choose CUBIE3 for bulky, lightweight waste

CUBIE3 is designed for larger volumes of lighter materials.

Dimensions: 2.1 m × 1.5 m × 1 m (approximately 3 cubic metres)

Maximum weight: 1,000 kg

Best for: household junk, green waste, furniture, and renovation debris

Capacity guide: roughly 21 standard council red-lid bins (140 L each) or 4.5 standard 6×4 trailer loads

Customer insight: Over 95% of customers stay within the 1,000 kg limit

Important weight information

Both CUBIE sizes have a maximum weight limit of 1,000 kg

Loads exceeding this limit incur a surcharge of $45 per additional 100 kg

Important restriction

CUBIE3 is not suitable for heavy materials, including soil, bricks, concrete, or heavy pavers

If you are unsure which CUBIE size is right for your project, contact our team for guidance before ordering.

Does the CUBIE suit small jobs?

Yes. CUBIE is ideal for small clean-ups where a traditional metal skip bin isn’t necessary or practical.

CUBIE is designed for projects like small renovations, garden clean-ups, garage clear-outs, and DIY jobs where space is limited and flexibility matters. The bag can be placed on private property, filled over time, and collected when you’re ready.

CUBIE is available in two sizes, so you can choose the option that best matches the scale and type of waste for your job.

What is a skip bag?

A skip bag is a flexible waste container that provides an alternative to traditional metal skip bins, particularly for small to medium clean-ups where space, flexibility, and timing matter.

Skip bags are delivered flat-packed, placed on private property, filled at your own pace, and collected when ready.

Key benefits of skip bags

Durable: Lightweight but made from heavy-duty materials designed to hold construction, household, and garden waste

Easy setup: Delivered flat-packed and simple to position

Flexible timing: No hire window pressure — fill the bag over days or weeks

Convenient delivery: Can be delivered without you needing to be onsite

Surface protection: Less likely to damage driveways, lawns, or paving

Low visual impact: Neater and less obtrusive than metal skips

Space efficient: Suitable for tight or restricted areas

Easy loading: Wheelbarrow-friendly access

Reusable presence: Can be stored and used when needed

Skip bags are commonly chosen by homeowners, renovators, and trades who want a simpler, more flexible way to manage waste without the disruption of a traditional skip bin.

Where will my waste go?

CUBIE operates within Australia’s regulated waste management system and aims to minimise landfill wherever possible.

After collection, your waste is transported to licensed and accredited waste and recycling facilities. At these facilities, materials are assessed and processed so that recyclable and recoverable waste streams are diverted from landfill whenever possible. The exact outcome depends on the type and condition of the waste.

CUBIE works with approved operators to ensure waste is handled safely, legally, and responsibly.

CUBIE rebates

Sorting your waste into separate CUBIEs by material type makes recycling more efficient and reduces disposal costs. Where lower-cost recycling streams apply, CUBIE passes these savings back to you as a rebate.

This means you can save money while supporting better recycling outcomes.

Examples of rebate-eligible waste streams

  • Clean straight brick
  • Clean segregated concrete (under 500 mm)
  • Brick and concrete
  • Mixed heavy waste (brick, concrete, asphalt, sand, soil)
  • VENM-certified material (sand, soil, clay, shale, sandstone)
  • Garden waste (no stumps)
  • Clean gyprock (no horse hair plaster)
  • Untreated wood

Rebates depend on material condition and compliance with recycling requirements.

If you would like guidance on how to sort waste, which streams qualify, or how to claim a rebate, please contact the CUBIE team before booking or pickup.

What can I use a CUBIE for?

CUBIE is suitable for a wide range of residential, renovation, and light construction clean-ups. It is designed to handle common waste types generated during home projects, DIY work, and property maintenance.

Common uses for CUBIE include:

  • DIY projects and home improvements
  • Demolition and renovation waste
  • Construction and building waste
  • General household clean-outs
  • Garden and green waste
  • Kitchen renovations
  • Bathroom remodels
  • Flooring replacements
  • Pre-move and end-of-lease clean-ups
  • Spring cleaning projects
  • Moving house
  • Property renovations and house flipping

CUBIE provides a flexible, space-efficient alternative to traditional skip bins, allowing waste to be collected when your project is complete.

How does the pricing work?

Buy one or more CUBIE bags and then only pay for collection when you are ready. Our pickup service includes the disposal cost which is based on the size of your CUBIE.

Both CUBIE1 and CUBIE3 bags include maximum weight limits. If you happen to go over these limits a charge of $45 per 100KG over the combined bag limit will be incurred.

Bag pricing assumes that each CUBIE purchased will ultimately be collected through our service. In rare situations where it appears a bag is being purchased with no intention of future collection, we may decline delivery. This helps ensure fair use of the service and keeps pricing simple for everyone.

CUBIE rebates

When you sort waste into separate CUBIEs - like keeping bricks and concrete separate from garden waste - it makes recycling easier and more efficient.  This reduces disposal costs, and we pass those savings back to you as a rebate. It's a simple way to save money while supporting smarter waste management.

Rebate streams

  • Clean straight brick
  • Clean segregated concrete
  • Brick and concrete
  • Mixed heavy (brick, concrete, masonry)
  • VENM certified (sand, soil)
  • Garden (no stumps)

Please contact us for more information on how to claim your rebate.

All fees listed on the website include GST.

How do I pay?

We offer all major payment options including VISA, Mastercard and Amex.

What if I want a refund?

We offer a full refund for unused CUBIE bags within 14 days of purchase.

If you have requested collection and then cancel, we are able to offer a full refund unless the driver is already on their way to your location.

If our driver is unable to pick up your CUBIE due to non-compliance (e.g. placement, prohibited materials, excess weight), we will contact you to discuss secondary collection options.
